InTASC Standards
Standard 1: Learning Development
The teacher understands how learners grow and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning and development vary for each individual across cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical areas. They design and implement developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences.
Standard 2: Learning Differences
The teacher draws on an understanding of individual differences and diverse cultures and communities to create inclusive learning environments that help every learner reach high standards.
Standard 3: Learning Environment
The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learn and self-motivation.
Standard 4: Content Knowledge
The teacher knows the core concepts, methods of inquiry, and structures of the subjects they teach, and designs learning experiences that make the subject accessible and engaging for students, ensuring they master the content.
Standard 5: Application of Content
The teacher knows how to link ideas and bring in different perspectives to spark students’ critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork in solving real-world local and global challenges.
Standard 6: Assessment
The teacher uses a variety of assessment methods to involve learners in their own growth, track their progress, and support both the teacher’s and learners’ decision-making.

Standard 7: Planning for Instruction
The teacher designs lessons that help every student reach challenging learning goal’s by using knowledge of the subject, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and teaching methods, along with an understanding of the students and the community.
Standard 8: Instructional Strategies
The teacher uses a range of teaching strategies to help learners deeply understand different subjects, see how they connect, and develop the skills to apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
Standard 9: Prof. Learning & Ethical Practice
The teacher is committed to ongoing professional growth, using evidence to regularly reflect on their practice and the impact of their decisions on learners, families, colleagues, and the community, while adapting their approach to meet the unique needs of each student.
Standard10: Leadership & Collaboration
The teacher seeks appropriate leadership roles and opportunities to take responsibility for student learning, working together with learners, families, colleagues, other school professionals, and community members to support learner growth and advance the profession.
